Cath Kidston Carpet!........ Coming Soon to a Blog Near You!

Im so excited I cant tell you......................... After nearly 18 months of looking at it in my spare room, I am at last having one of my two rolls of Cath Kidston carpet fitted next week....................

I was tired of having painted wooden floors upstairs so decided to get carpet and when I spotted a Cath Kidston (at that point I didnt even know she did carpet) well what was a girl to do? Not long after I bought it Mr Kitten and I thought about moving house so there was no way I was going to put my Cath carpet down for someone else to enjoy or god forbid if they pulled it up and threw it out (Mrs Kitten hyperventilates at this thought!!!) Of course the £52 a square metre price tag we had to pay had nothing to do with it either!!! Yeah right, who am I kidding! So after deciding we were going to stay put after all I have been redecorating my cottage, and as Im nearly finished painting with the many tins of Farrow and Ball that I have tried to sneak in which unfortunately didnt go un-noticed by Mr Kitten, we are at last having the carpets fitted..........................

E-Gads these are just a few of the tins of Farrow and Ball Ive bought recently, there have been more.........Eek! (but we wont tell Mr Kitten will we?)
Thankfully Im nearly finished painting and decorating which I have to say Ive had more than enough of, there are just a few more things to do, so with the painting out of the way we are having the Blue carpet put in the main bedroom and when Ive done abit of painting in the spare room I will have the green carpet in there.......

Oh my god I cant wait!!!!!

Note to readers........... I dont normally get excited over a new carpet and if you have never heard of Cath Kidston then you must be wondering if Ive lost my marbles to get excited over a piece of shag pile but I just want to say........ITS CATH KIDSTON CARPET!!!! whats not to get excited about? Hee Hee!

Friday Flea Finds!

Woe is me! The car boot sale season is well and truly over, but over the last few weeks I have managed to find a few bits and bobs.............

A cute little teapot.................just for one

A metal plaque that looks abit 'folk arty'

Various Tins...................

Some lovely 1950's annuals

Books.......................

Im always on the lookout for Vintage cookbooks and I was pleased to find these Fanny Cradock booklets

Butter Knives.......................

More tins......................

I just love the illustrations and colours of this box. The straws inside are weird, they feel waxy???

The clotted cream tin was £5.00 which I thought was abit pricey, but I really liked it (I told Mr K it was £1.00!!!)

Cocktail picks...............

This box was only £1.50 and after a few coats of Farrow and Ball Middleton Pink paint and some leftover Cath Kidston fabric it now looks like this................

I finished it off with a rose Decal on the top...........

Ive been going Decal crazy lately, everything is getting the decal treatment including my letter rack. It was plain wood just like the box above, but I painted it in Farrow and Balls Dix Blue and now it looks like this................

I think I need to stop decorating everything in roses. If you come round to my house make sure you keep on your toes because if you stand about too long I will probably 'Decal' you too!!!!

Remember Remember the 5th of November!

Last night Mr Kitten and I had a small gathering of friends who came to watch our firework display. It was a freezing cold night with some rain so to warm us up before braving the outdoors I made a large pan of Roasted Squash and Sweet Potato soup with a Buttermilk and Blue Cheese swirl (One of Nigella Lawsons recipes)

And to follow baked Apples stuffed with ground Almonds and spices which makes the filling turn to marzipan. I also added a little spoonful of Todka (Toffee Vodka) and baked with a Cinnamon stick stuck in the centre of each apple and served with cream.

Then we went out into the garden to watch Mr Kittens fireworks

It was so cold I made everyone a Hot Chocolate topped with Cream, Marshmallows and Sprinkles to warm our hands up. We had a lovely time...............

Tonight Mr Kitten and I are off to see an organised firework display and bonfire so it should be a fun night. I hope you all enjoy your November 5th......... and whatever you do............... Stay Safe! X
