On the Wanted List

Being a lover of all things Vintage there are quite a few things on my 'Wanted List' some of those items being Edwardian or Arts and craft wardrobes, Haberdashery drawers, Shop cabinets (like the ones in Are you being served) an old metal shop till and it should come as no surprise that I would like a Cocktail cabinet. I would love a home to display my glass collection and the kitsch bar items I have hoarded for so long. I have 1950's cocktail picks, Snowball glasses, Britvic glasses and the odd Edwardian Sherry glasses and vintage champagne saucers. They are so beautiful and are the most glamorous way to serve an alcoholic beveridge.....

I am not much of a drinker myself. I like the odd Gin and Tonic (with more Tonic than Gin) but I love making Cocktails and getting friends and family to be my guinea pig so to speak. I like everything I eat or drink to be presented in as lovely a way as possible. What is the use of owning gorgeous vintage pieces if they aren't going to be used and displayed? I really would like a full on proper bar area with glass shelves and lighting just like in a posh London Hotel but thinking smaller and being more realistic just a vintage cabinet maybe from the 1950's would do. One of those type you open and its all mirrored inside with lighting. I'm thinking Pa Larkin from the Darling Buds of May though if I remember rightly his was the shape of a ship?.....
