On Saturday when we woke up to a nice day I thought I would take my new camera out with us and photograph what we saw on our day out. But first we had a smoothie for breakfast. Its not like me to be healthy, but I had some lovely fruit so I made a smoothie from Strawberries, Raspberries, Mango, Orange Juice and Yoghurt.....
So with nowhere in particular in mind we set off for our day 'out and about'.....
Through the Dales and countryside.....
The view across the river is gorgeous. Mr Kitten was trying to show me how to use the zoom thingy so I could show you the river close up as its quite far away from the roadside, but instructions bore me, I just want to point and click, so I let Mr K do all that nonsense and take the photo!.....
Now we have reached the town, this building in the road is actually a roundabout and on the other side of it the street gets really steep and hard to get parked but we managed to find a spot so we could get out and have a wander about the shops and take a look at the lovely old buildings this long street has.....
Down the really steep part of the street is this lovely old building. It is now a restaurant but there is a plaque on the wall outside with a description of what the building used to be.....

There were a couple of antique shops but they were closed, Mr K wasn't sorry about that, spoiltsport!!! I was only going to look, I wasn't going to buy anything.....
After a nose into peoples lovely houses and the gorgeous buildings we were getting abit peckish so for lunch we had some chippy chips with mushy peas and lots of salt and vinegar. No day would be complete without a look around a charity shop. Mr K always stays in the car when I spot a charity shop. There wasn't much there, but I did get a couple of books. One of them about roses, all the pages are full colour. Dont you just love roses?.....

We continued our drive, past the castle and drove through some pretty villages.....
On our way home now. There are a few churches dotted around the landscape where I live, some of them have been converted into houses, but there are others like this one below.....
Who goes to them? Even in the old days how many people attended services? Houses are pretty scarce around here and the ones there are, are scattered few and far between. The church isn't too far up the track from the roadside but in the days of no cars this would be very remote. I bet there weren't many parishioners in winter. Without cars they must have been keen to trek across the fields to go to church on a Sunday morning. Nearly home now, over the tiny bridge looking over the river.....

The sun had gone in by the time we got back and as it gets really cold where I live at night Mr K went out to chop some wood to get a fire going.....
Then we flopped in front of the TV with a pot of tea and some chocolates, Yummy!.....
